Kohima, Nov. 1 (EMN): President of India, Droupadi Murmu, will arrive in Dimapur on Wednesday afternoon on a two-day visit to Nagaland.
This will be her maiden visit to the state after becoming the president of the country, and second visit to Northeast after visiting Tripura and Assam in October.
Reliable sources told Eastern Mirror that tentatively, upon her arrival from Delhi, Murmu will depart to Kohima from Dimapur via an aircraft, and will proceed to the Raj Bhavan in Kohima after landing.
She will attend a civic reception programme at the State Capital Cultural Hall at 3 pm.
In this regard, the state government had also notified all tribal bodies in Nagaland to attend the same with their traditional shawls.
An update from DIPR stated that the civic reception programme will be streamed live on the DIPR Nagaland YouTube channel.
Along with the reception programme, the President will also virtually inaugurate several school buildings in various parts of the state, roads and bridges and other facilities.
Murmu is also expected to meet Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio and his cabinet colleagues later in the evening, followed by a banquet at the State Banquet Hall at Chief Minister’s Residential Complex in Kohima.
On Thursday, the president is expected to visit the historic Kohima World War II cemetery in the morning and proceed to Kigwema village for an interaction with council members and self-help groups (SHGs) at Kigwema Village Council Hall. She will then proceed back to Kohima for departure.
It may be mentioned that the President will be visiting Nagaland (Kohima), Mizoram (Aizawl) and Sikkim (Gangtok and Namchi) from November 2 to the 5th.
