Rejoinder to ZYTO
In response to the press release issued by ZTYO ON 8TH April 2015 under the caption letter to Chief Secretary Nagaland regarding the contribution towards Platinum jubilee celebration of All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK).
The district level education department along with All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) resolved to contribute flat rate for the welfare of the students community on the request of the executive of SKK.
However the decision was taken in a bad taste by certain section of Zunheboto Town Youth Organization.
Therefore the resolution stands canceled and the contribution will be refunded by booking into the respective employee account.
In this regard the good image of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Zunheboto need not be dragged in.

Kudos to Urban Devp for funds
he New Market Jame Masjid Committee (NMJMC) Dimapur lauds the Urban Development Department for releasing funds under the Urban Neighbourhood Development Scheme to clean and construct drainages at Ward No. 19, Dimapur.
The cleaning and construction works are carried out under the supervision of GBs of Ward No. 19 and the New Market Business Owners’ Association (NMBOA).
Under the Scheme, the Masjid Committee has also become an indirect beneficiary as the drainage flowing near our Masjid has remained clogged for many years and it is now being cleared for smooth flow of sewage.
Our appreciation also goes to the GBs of Ward No. 19 and NMBOA for their tireless efforts in supervising the works and monitoring it effectively. The NMJMC also thanks the officials of Urban Development Dimapur for rendering their services in processing and executing the works.
Many drainages in Dimapur have never been cleaned since its construction. With the Dimapur Municpal Council also clearing drainages side by side in Dimapur, we are optimistic that floods which occur annually during monsoon season will not be repeated this year.
The NMJMC shall continue to render our support to the Department, DMC and all concerned NGOs towards similar initiatives.

GPRN/NSCN clarifies on Apna Hotel building issue
The Naga political struggle is a people’s struggle to defend their distinct history, land and people. This truth cannot be given away out of fear or favor. A case of property dispute between first and second wives of Late B.S Sharma, namely Mrs. Basanti Devi Sharma and Mrs. Limasanla Ao, over Plot no. 301, Patta No. 195 at Nyamo Lotha Road, was forwarded to the GPRN/NSCN by the Naga Council Dimapur on 23/08/14. The office of the Ato Kilonser constituted a six member Special Committee to settle the dispute. There were four hearings in four months. Each party was granted opportunity to present their case and produce all relevant documents.
The said plot was registered in the name of Limasanla Ao, daughter of Sakulemba Ao, resident of Duncan Basti. She was the second wife Late B.S Sharma who died in 1988. There were other properties in Delhi, Diphu and Bongaigon belonging to Late B.S Sharma.
As per the documents, on 14/08/93, the Dimapur Longpha Senso Telongjem invited the parties of first and second wives and settled that the three properties outside Nagaland be granted to first wife Mrs Basanti Devi Sharma and children while the property at Dimapur was granted to Mrs. Limasanla and her two sons. In March, 1999, Mrs Limasanla, the second wife and her sons leased out a portion of the building to Rithika Sharma, the daughter of first wife, at a monthly rent of Rs. 10,000/- to run a restaurant called APNA HOTEL. In 2013, Mrs. Limasanla and her son decided to sell the property to Mrs. Mano Peseyie.
Accordingly, Dimapur D.C, through local dailies granted one month’s time for objection to the proposal. After the expiry of the deadline, on 30/05/13, Mrs Limasanla sold the plot and building to Mrs. Mano Peseyie wife of Tekrube Peseyie, who automatically transferred the property in their name without any hindrance. This deal was later objected to by Mrs. Basanti Devi Sharma on the ground that it was a joint property.
The Special Committee notes that despite the non co-operative and malicious attitude of Mrs. Basanti Devi Sharma’s children who exhibited provocative character reckless anti-Naga stance all along. It did not deter the members from delivering justice to both the parties in true spirit.
The judgement order was placed before the parties and accepted by both, Mrs. Basanti Devi Sharma and Mrs Limasanla Ao. Despite Mrs. Limasanla being the sole owner of the property, having every right to sell the property to any party, On humanitarian ground, she was ordered to pay Mrs. Basanti Devi Sharma a sum of Rs. 75,00,000/- in addition to earlier assistance of Rs. 10,00,000/- and Rs. 5,00,000/- made to late Deepak Sharma and Suraj Sharma both sons of Mrs. Basanti Devi Sharma. The Amount was handed over to Mrs. Basanti Devi Sharma and her son Suraj Sharma on 5th Feb. 2015. She signed the receipt note in front of her son and relatives and GPRN members, declaring neither she nor her children shall lay claim to a plot no. 301, patta no. 195, at Nyamo Lotha Road Dimapur.
The purchaser of the property, Mrs. Mano Peseyie is the sole legal owner of the property.
The Judgment order of the Special Committee, GPRN/NSCN, entrenched Naga customary law in the land of the Nagas without distorting the ideals of justice.
