DMCEWU postpones proposed stir

Dimapur, Oct. 10 (EMN): The Dimapur Municipal Council Employees Welfare Union (DMCEWU) in an emergency executive body meeting held on October 7, resolved to keep in abeyance its proposed agitation ‘No pay no work’ till October 24. The Union in an update informed that the decision was taken following an appeal letter dated October 6 received from DMC administrator requesting the letter to keep on hold the proposed agitation. “Henceforth, no appeal/request shall be entertained further”, it stated.

CMO Peren notifies on medical board

Dimapur, Oct. 10 (EMN): The chief medical officer (CMO), Peren, has in a circular informed all the departments in Peren district that the district medical board is scheduled to be held on November 9 at 10 am onwards in the office chamber of the CMO, Peren. It further informed all departments who have candidates for confirmation, invalidation and commutation of pension for Grd. III and Grd. IV employees to submit the list on or before November 8 to the district media officer, CMO Peren.

GPRN/NSCN condoles member’s demise

Dimapur, Oct. 10 (EMN): The GPRN/NSCN has condoled the demise of Col. Nikheyi Assumi, son of Lhokhuvi of Suhoi village, who passed away on the October 9 at his residence. GPRN/NSCN in a condolence message said late Col. Nikheyi Assumi enrolled in the Naga national service in July 1991 and served the nation for 31 years with full commitment and doubtless patriotism for the cause of the Naga National movement till his last breath. “In his demise the nation have loss one of the most dedicated and admired officer. His impressive service records and dedication for the Naga nation shall ever be cherished and treasured in the pages of Naga history,” it stated. C-in-C, Naga Army, GPRN/NSCN, Gen. Samson Aye, and Brig. Khuiho Yeptho, brigade commander, Ghukiye Designated Camp, also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members.

Kohima Press Club condoles

Dimapur, Oct. 10 (EMN): The members of Kohima Press Club (KPC) have condoled the demise of Romoni Rongpipi, mother of our KPC member Jenbu Sangma, who passed away on October 9 after a prolonged illness. “Words are not enough to comfort the bereaved family but we pray to our Almighty God to grant them solace and strength at this time of grief. While we convey our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, we also pray that the departed soul would rest in eternal peace,” KPC said in a condolence message.

BUK annual day on Oct. 15

Dimapur, Oct. 10 (EMN): The Butcher’s Union Kohima (BUK) will be celebrating its annual day on October 15 at New Market. The union in an update informed all the members to attend the same without fail. Union members are further directed to abstain from their usual business on October 15, it stated.
