ENPO president advocates peace for development
KOHIMA — President of Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO), R Tsapikiu Sangtam, on Friday stressed the crucial role of peace in fostering development.
He stated this during the 29th general session of Seyochung Area Students’ Union (SASU) in Seyochung village under Kiphire district under the theme “Back to the root.”
Sangtam, who was a special guest of the session, pointed out that the pursuit of a common cause by the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) for Frontier Naga Territory (FNT) is nearing realisation. He also encouraged the students to acquire quality education to excel in every aspect.
While asserting that the world is growing into a global village, he advised the students to be well-equipped to face the competitive world. He further appreciated the Seyochung area people for cooperating in many ways and he sought the same in the days ahead.
Earlier, the presidential address was delivered by T Thinglise, while the welcome address was delivered by Lichothri, chairman of Seyochung village council.
A song was presented by Lumpongli from Yangzitong Village Students’ Union, while a folk song was presented by the Seyochung Village Atparü Union, Kiphire town, and an invocation prayer was said by Selongmong, pastor of Yangzitong Village Baptist Lithro.
The conference would be marked by sports activities besides encompassing other educational activities and culminate on January 8.
