Electrification in Dooars section of NFR completed successfully
In an endeavour for complete electrification, inspection of railway electrification works followed by speed trial in both directions at full sectional speed in Dalgaon-Samuktala (65 RKM/82.20 TKM) section and Alipurduar-New Coochbehar (23.37 RKM/28 TKM) section of Alipurduar Division has been completed successfully on Aug. 9
DIMAPUR— In an endeavour for complete electrification, inspection of railway electrification works followed by speed trial in both directions at full sectional speed in Dalgaon-Samuktala (65 RKM/82.20 TKM) section and Alipurduar-New Coochbehar (23.37 RKM/28 TKM) section of Alipurduar Division has been completed successfully on Aug. 9.
An update from Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) informed that the ongoing work is progressing at full throttle for achieving 100% electrification in the entire zone.
So far, 591.76 RKM/905.17 TKM routes across NFR have been successfully electrified during the period from January to July.
The entire route from Siliguri-Dalgaon-Samuktala passing through the Dooars section have been successfully electrified.
Now, trains in the Dooars section will operate fully on electric traction, thus reducing pollution on this section which is surrounded by wildlife and greenery, the update informed.
The passenger trains including the Vistadome Express will pass through this section with full pace without losing its punctuality.
Work on electrification projects on NFR is in full swing and that electrification will significantly improve the mobility of trains in NFR.
In addition to the reduction in pollution due to the shift from fossil fuel to electricity, the efficiency of the Railway system in the region will also improve that will facilitate seamless traffic and save time of the trains moving to and from Northeast to other states, the update further informed.
