Kohima, July 30 (EMN): Capital College of Higher Education (CCHE) in Kohima observed its 15th fresher’s meet at the State Academy Hall on July 30 with its chairman of governing body, Vezuhu Keyho, as the guest speaker on the theme 'New beginning.'
In his address, Keyho advised the students to have vision in life and fear God. Elucidating on the importance of discipline, he said it is essential for personal management and a bridge for a person to achieve one’s dream in life.
Keyho exhorted the students to be respectful to their teachers and elders and not to hesitate in seeking help from them. He pointed out that as freshers, they are entering into a new environment and new horizon for which they need to be careful and choose friends wisely.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=6]Pointing out that the pandemic has taught so many things including education having the difference between offline and online, wherein the internet has become ‘way of life,’ he warned of the consequences and told the students to use it judiciously in order not to be addicted to gadgets irrespective of age.
Keyho also told the students that without a goal, life would be a waste. He, therefore, told the students to have goals in their lives and cultivate good habits, be sincere and polite.
The annual college magazine 'Capitalum 2021-22' was also released by the guest speaker.
On the occasion, the college topper in the recently declared Nagaland University Undergraduate examination, Leiying Konyak, was felicitated along with students who scored distinction. Faculty members, in whose paper the students scored distinctions, were also felicitated.
The welcome address was delivered by Nuvota Khamo, president of CCHESU, while speech on behalf of the freshers was delivered by Khrievilie.
