Dimapur, Jan. 20 (EMN): The Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) and the Wokha Circle Students’ Union (WCSU) have condemned the inhuman and barbaric act meted towards one of its member, Renbithung Yanthan, a student of Bailey Baptist College Wokha son of Etsorhomo Yanthan on Jan. 18 at GA colony in Wokha.
The two unions while condemning, appealed to the law enforcing agencies to book the culprits evolved in the incident at the earliest and award befitting punishment as per the law of the land. A press release was jointly appended by LSU and WCSU presidents.
Also, the Humtso Village Yanthan Ekhung (HVYE) and the Yanthan Hungjantaren Okho (YHO) have condemned the barbaric and inhuman act meted out to Etsorhomo Yanthan and his family on Jan. 18.
“A group of miscreants led by Tumchobemo Kikon S/o. Lt. Sungroshan Kikon of Longsa village presently a resident of Vungotchu colony Wokha town forcibly entered the residence of Etsorhomo Yanthan attacking the family members with wooden, iron road and a pistol injuring Etsorhomo Yanthan and his son Thungjanbemo Yanthan and also damaged two motorcycles,” a press release from YHO president Janbemo Yanthan, GB ‘C’ Khel Nsemo Yanthan and HVYE chairman Yibemo Yanthan stated.
The organization alleged that during the scuffle, ‘Tumchobemo Kikon took out a pistol and shoot three times in the head, neck and chest grievously injuring Renbithung Yanthan son of Etsorhomo Yanthan.’
While condemning such inhuman act HVYE and YHO have urged upon the law enforcing agencies to take the matter seriously and arrest all the culprits at the earliest and serve stringent punishment as per the law.
