Sazolie College hosts IBM SkillsBuild session on artificial intelligence

DIMAPUR — Sazolie College, Phezhu (Jotsoma), organised an IBM SkillsBuild for Adult Learners orientation and training session on artificial intelligence (AI) in collaboration with the Edunet Foundation at Vineizono Hall on September 11.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Gopal Chetri highlighted the importance of keeping pace with technological advancements and encouraged students to make meaningful use of emerging opportunities in the digital sphere, according to a press release.

Deepneel Majumdar, a learning and development professional associated with the Edunet Foundation, provided an orientation on IBM SkillsBuild for Adult Learners. He familiarised participants with the objectives and opportunities offered through the programme and stressed the importance of continuous learning and acquiring industry-relevant digital skills.

Majumdar introduced participants to the fundamentals of AI and its growing applications in education, professional life, and everyday activities. He explained how AI enables computer systems to perform tasks associated with human intelligence, including learning, understanding, problem-solving, decision-making, and creativity.

A significant component of the training focused on prompt engineering, helping participants understand how effective communication with generative AI tools can produce more relevant and useful results. Participants were introduced to various prompting techniques, including zero-shot, one-shot, few-shot, negative, iterative, and prompt-chaining approaches, along with Chain-of-Thought prompting.
