Zasivi Peseyie FC lifts 7th Zasinihu Memorial Trophy
DIMAPUR — Zasivi Peseyie FC on Thursday lifted the coveted championship title of the 7th Zasinihu Memorial Trophy 2023.
An update from the organisers informed that the final match played at Jotsoma local ground, Zasivi Peseyie FC defeated Jotsoma Students’ Union by 4-0 goals to lift the trophy.
Zasivi Peseyie FC fetched a cash prize of INR 50,000 along with citation and running trophy, while the runner-up Jotsoma Students’ Union received INR 25,000.
The losing semi-finalists, Adroit Boys and Group-C, Jotsoma, also pocketed a sum of INR 10,000 each.
In the individual awards, the best custodian (golden glove) was awarded to Vingusa Rino of Jotsoma Students’ Union, while the highest scorer award (golden boot) was awarded to Kikrusakho Rino of Jotsoma Students’ Union with 6 goals and the player of the tournament award (golden ball) was awarded to Kevisanyü Peseyie of Zasivi Peseyie FC.
In women’s volleyball, Khonoma Students’ Union (KSU) downed Mezoma Students’ Union (MSU) by 3-2 in the set round (best of five).
Neirietouno Julia Miasalhou of Mezoma Students’ Union was adjudged as the player of the tournament.
Tiayanger Jamir, SDO (Civil) of Sechü (Zubza) attended the grand finale as the special guest.
It may be mentioned that, 22 men football teams and 7 women volleyball teams participated in the tournament which began on October 31.
