Dimapur, July 12 (EMN): Following deterioration of road conditions between Tening town and Dimapur, the lifeline for Tening sub-division in Peren district, Tening Town Youth Organisation (TTYO) undertook a road repairing work from Zero Point to Tening Junction on July 11.
The work was executed in coordination with the administration, frontal organisations, churches, government departments, men and women along with TTYO volunteers stated an update from TTYO. It added that a total of 189 people participated in the work with financial and material contributions by officers, donors and well-wishers.
TTYO has expressed gratitude to the advisor and MLA of 6 Tening AC, Namri Nchang, for providing two excavators. The organisation has also acknowledged the selfless contributions of all donors and individuals, who have participated in repairing the 4 km stretch.
Meanwhile, TTYO has lamented the indifferent attitude of PWD (R&B) department and its inability to carry out even the basic maintenance works of drainage and bush clearance on the main road connecting Tening headquarters via Peren to Dimapur.
The organisation alleged that officers and staff of the department are hardly in station for carrying out routine works especially during rainy season. TTYO has appealed to the department concerned to ensure the presence of its officers and staffs in Tening henceforth without fail.
