Young Minds NE, Assam Rifles organise mental health event
KOHIMA — In celebration of World Mental Health Awareness Month, Young Minds NE and Assam Rifles organised a mental health awareness event on Saturday titled “Offline Club—Real Connection is Real Life” at the AWO building, Kohima.
An update from the organisers informed that the initiative focused on the growing need for digital detox and emphasised the importance of building meaningful offline connections.
It stated that the event attracted a diverse group of participants, including families of Assam Rifles personnel as well as college and school students. It featured interactive group games, moving poems, and personal stories that fostered connection and understanding among attendees.
It also included a performance by the Assam Rifles Jazz Band and a presentation on understanding mental health, which offered key takeaways about mental health challenges and strategies for coping, particularly for youth in today’s hyper-connected world.
It stated that the Offline Club approach is a unique take on mental health, emphasising real-life experiences over traditional discussions.
By fostering genuine human connections and creating a safe space for self-expression, it empowers individuals to understand mental health in a more relatable way, making a deep and lasting impact on the community, the update stated.
