Workshop on leadership development for college principals concludes

DIMAPUR — The valedictory function of a five-day national workshop on leadership development for college principals of Nagaland was held at North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) hall, Chümoukedima, on Friday.

The valedictory function was attended by former member of Rajya Sabha MP, C Apok Jamir, as the chief guest and principal of Kohima College, Dr. Vitsosie Vupru, as the guest of honour, an update stated.

The chief guest, in his speech, stressed on the need to empower students with knowledge and to guide them in the right direction as the future depends on them.

Jamir also distributed certificates to all the participants.

Dr. Vupru spoke on the importance of higher education and the seven strategies and encouraged all the principals to apply what they have learned from the workshop.

Dr. T Alemla Longkumer, principal of Mokokchung College of Teacher Education (MCTE), shared her feedback on the workshop, while Prof. Neeru Snehi, Department of Higher and Professional Education (NIEPA), presented the report of workshop on leadership development for college principals, followed by cultural dance performance by the students.

The programme began with an invocation prayer said by Dr. Fr. George Keduolhou Angami, principal of St. Joseph College, Jakhama.

Dr. Fr. CP Anto, principal of NEISSR, delivered the welcome address, while Prof. Aarti Srivastava, Department of Higher and Professional Education, NIEPA, shared her personal experiences.
