Women’s Champions Trophy: Wins for Tizu Warriors, Chathe Dazzlers
DIMAPUR — In a closely contested match played on Thursday, Tizu Warriors beat Dikhu Strikers by 16 runs at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, where the 3rd Edition Women’s Champions Trophy 2024 is underway.
As per an update from Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA), Tizu Warriors scored 174 runs in 32.2 overs, with Elina Murru scoring an impressive 84 runs from 58 balls and claimed a wicket, which earned her Player of the Match award.
Chasing the target, Jyoti Thapa put up a valiant effort, scoring 81 runs and taking 2 wickets, but Dikhu Strikers fell short of reaching the target, scoring 158 runs for loss of seven wickets.
Tsukhenshi’s three wickets for 47 runs helped Tizu Warriors seal the match.
In another match played at Sovima Cricket Ground, the Doyang Queens put 122 runs (for loss of 9 wickets) on the board with Watinaro Pongen scoring 48 runs.
However, the Chathe Dazzlers chased down the target in 24.4 overs, scoring 123 runs for loss of 2 wickets, thanks to Najmeen Khatun who stop-scored with 49 runs (not out), for which she was awarded Player of the Match.
Chathe Dazzlers defeated Doyang Queens by 8 wickets.
