Our Reporter
Dimapur, Nov. 5 (EMN): Under the project of ‘Uplifting women street vendors’, the Entrepreneurs Associates (tEA) supported by Capri Global Capital Limited (CGCL), distributed zero-interest loans to eight women street vendors on Monday at De Oriental Dream Hotel, Dimapur.
Neikule Doulo, head of communications tEA, said the project started in October 2017 to support the women street vendors since many women street vendors do not expand or grow in their businesses but live in the same condition for years.
She shared that working with others for uplift of women street vendors, they can in turn influence the family members as well as others.
She also asked the women to avail the loans, utilise them properly and repay the loans on time. She reminded that loan repayment mode is flexible and it depends on the individuals on how they want to repay.
Chairperson of Dimapur 24×7 media and NGO, Annie Jain, the special guest of the event, said the project is a good opportunity for women entrepreneurs and encouraged them to grab the opportunity.
She also shared that she learnt from her parents not to stay idle but to always work hard. She further encouraged the women to work hard and also motivate other people around them.
Akrole Chirhah, field mobiliser of Self Employed Women Association (SEWA) also delivered a short speech on the behalf of women. After the programme, skills training were also provided to the women entrepreneurs.
