Wokha DPDB deliberates on land patta issue for govt. departments
DIMAPUR — The monthly Wokha District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at the deputy commissioner’s conference hall on October 25.
In the meeting, the agenda for issuing land patta for government departments was deliberated, where MLA and chairman of DPDB Wokha, Y Mhonbemo Humtsoe, emphasised on the need to work out ways and means for the uncompensated land occupied by government offices, according to a DIPR report.
The deputy commissioner and vice chairman of Wokha DPDB, Vineet Kumar, apprised the members on applying and obtaining land patta. He DC reminded that land patta would be issued only to those government departments which are not involved in any legal issue.
The project director of DRDA, Wokha, Thungbemo Patton, officially launched the Gram Panchayat Development Plan campaign (GPDP). Patton informed the members that GPDP was basically for creating awareness in the village level by all the line departments on the existing schemes and projects, for economic development and social justice.
The house also welcomed the proposal for establishing common facility centre by the Sericulture department.
Further, the members also agreed to the proposal of CMO Wokha for setting up of new sub-centre at Saron Colony in Wokha town.
Powerpoint presentation was made by YRO, PHED and Power departments respectively, highlighting on the achievements and way forward of the departments.
With regard to the suggestion by YRO Wokha for coming up with aquatic sports at Chubi Bridge area, the DC advised for submitting working papers mentioning sourcing of funds.
Humtsoe advised the Power officials to look into power theft issues with all seriousness. He also assured to donate 50 watts LED bulbs from his end to brighten up some corners of Wokha district.
Veterinary and Industries departments were entrusted to present the departmental activities in the next DPDB meeting.
