Vehicular movement along National Highway-702 in Nagaland restricted

DIMAPUR— In view of the recent sinking of National Highway-702 (NH-702) and road damages between Mon village junction and Yaling area, Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma has announced restriction of vehicular movement along the stretch until further order.

An update from the district administration informed that the NH-702 was blocked and properties damaged due to landslides, mudslides, and rock falls triggered by incessant rainfall.

Owing to this, the authorities have directed light motor vehicles plying on the NH-702 to take the alternate route through Mon village by-pass road.

“However, considering the fragile nature of the alternate route, the movement of all heavy vehicles (both commercial and passenger) shall be restricted to use this particular by-pass road until further orders,” read the order.
