Union minister inaugurates four projects for Nagaland
Dimapur — Union minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Parshottam Rupala, has inaugurated four projects for Nagaland namely brood bank in Nathanglu under Mokokchung district; live fish vending centre in Kohima district and two bio-floc units in Tenyiphe under Chümoukedima district and Nihoto under Niuland district.
The four fisheries projects were among 176 projects inaugurated by the union minister under the Pradhan Mantri Matsaya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) during the Fisheries Summer Meet 2023 held in Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu on July 10 and 11 to commemorate National Fish Farmers Day.
A DIPR report stated that the advisor of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, A Pangjung Jamir, along with officials from the department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources including the joint director, Neithi O- Kuotso, and deputy director, Dr. Rongsen Kumzuk attended the Fisheries Summer Meet-2023.
The programme was attended by ministers and officials from various states and union territories.
Besides the minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Parshottam Rupala, speeches were also presented by union minister of state for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Dr. L Murugan and Dr. Sanjeev Balyan.
