Two fire incidents reported in Nagaland’s capital Kohima

Kohima, Nov. 28 (EMN): Kohima reported two fire incidents on Monday, one during the day and another in the evening.
Kohima South Fire Station officials informed Eastern Mirror that the first fire incident happened between 11 and 11:30 am, wherein a kutcha house located at Lerie above National Highway, Kohima, was reduced ashes.
Two gas cylinders, kitchen utensils, water storage tank (syntax), documents, tiles cutter, rations and other tools belonging to construction workers, worth about INR 1 lakh, were burnt, informed the source.
Two fire tenders with 12 firefighters from Kohima South Fire station were pressed into action in a challenging terrain to douse the fire, which was successfully controlled and prevented from spreading further.
The actual cause of the fire was not known, however it was suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit.
Meanwhile, the second fire incident took place at around 5 pm near L Khel Indoor stadium at L Khel, Kohima village. It broke out from a power transformer.
Two fire tenders from South Fire Station and one from North Fire Station were pressed into action to douse the fire.
It was informed that the Fire department was coordinating with the Power department to ascertain the cause of the fire.
