Tuensang prepares to host Dr. T Ao trophy

DIMAPUR — As Tuensang district prepares to host Dr. T Ao trophy from September 16 to the 27th, the member of legislative assembly (MLA) and general secretary of Nagaland Football Association (NFA), Benei Lamthiu, appealed to the officers to showcase cultural and beauty of the district through trophy.

Lamthiu stated this during the monthly meeting of Tuensang district planning and development board (DPDB) held in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office on Friday under the chairmanship of MLA Lima Onen Chang. He also highlighted sports as a career and initiatives of the government to promote youth in sports, stated a DIPR report.

Discussing on the sinking zone at Phenjang Colony, the NSDMA nodal officer, Temsuwangshi Jamir, informed that the department had verified the area and added that over 200 households have been affected.

As the present funds from the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority was not enough to meet the demands of the sinking area, he informed that it would be taken up with the higher authority during the meeting in Kohima.

The house approved and recommended for society registration of Thimlak Farming Society C-khel; upgradation of SDIO to APRO office in Noksen; recognisation of Trumzong village under EAC Chare; construction of new circular road from St. John- B via Anyangngebou colony via Nyaklangbou to Hakusangb ward and circular road from PWD Rest House St. John- B via Sipong colony and Kamchu colony.

The board further approved the LADP 2024-2025 and iconic scheme for 51 Noksen AC, 52 Longkhim-Chare AC, 53 Tuensang Sadar 1 AC and 54 Tuensang Sadar ll AC.
