Tuensang district celebrates National Mathematics Day

TUENSANG — Commemorating the National Mathematics Day, the Nagaland Science and Technology Council (NSTC) organised a seminar at CKS Hall in Tuensang town on August 13 on the theme “Mathematics for everyone.”

The seminar, hosted by St. Joseph School and Akum Imlong School, saw a participation of 120 students from eight schools.

The deputy district agriculture officer (DDAO), R Akila Rothrong, was the special invitee of the event, while Dr. T Lal Veda Chandra Kumar, associate professor of Economics, and Ciekrovoto Theluo, assistant professor of Mathematics, both from Sao Chang Government College, were judges of the competition.

In the competition, Debraj Nath from Wela Foundation School secured the first position, while Pongkhu Chaba M Chang from Trinity Academy secured the second position and Supou Khiamniungan from St. Joseph School won the third position.

The winners were awarded certificates along with cash prizes, while certificates of appreciation were given to all the participants.
