Training on RI microplan for health workers held in Wokha

DIMAPUR — A district level training on Rountine Immunisation (RI) Microplan and health strengthening activities was held at the CMO conference hall, Wokha on Friday.

In the inaugural programme, Dr. Thungchanpeni Patton, district programme officer (RCH/UIP), informed that the training will enable the health workers to efficiently conduct house to house survey at the grassroots level, an update stated.

Dr. GR Rio, deputy director (UIP), Department of Health and Family Welfare (HFW), gave a brief introduction on the importance of Rountine Immunisation Microplan head count, HMIS and IPPI state and district status.

He emphasised on the need for proper documentation and highlighted on the gaps in the microplan.

Resource person Dr. Longri Kichu, RMNCAH+N consultant (UNICEF), explained the microplanning format and informed that it should be kept in all the health units as it will be later validated by external monitors.

Sessions on high risk areas, microplan format and RCH were also taken by Dr. Panjung Pongen, consultant communication (UNICEF); Imli Longkumer RPO (UNDP) and Dr. Thungchapeni Patton.

The training was attended by medical officers, community health officers, BPMs, ASHA coordinators, ANMs and GNMs from all the health units in the district.
