DIMAPUR — The Prestige Academy, Mon town, was formally inaugurated on Nov. 8 with Advisor of Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak as the special guest and Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma as guest of honour.
According to an update, the consecration prayer was done by Rev. L Metjen, executive secretary of KBBB, Yeihtai Konyak, proprietor of Prestige Academy, delivered the welcome address.
In his address, the special guest said that the Prestige Academy is a much-needed coaching institute as it will save financial hardships faced by aspirants from Mon district in various competitive exams such as NPSC, UPSC and NSSB etc.
Konyak also said that the institute will create competitive mindset among Konyak aspiring students.
The DC Mon said the academy should look for quality teaching to mould the aspirants and motivate them in the right way.
The president of the Konyak Students’ Union said that the administration, civil societies and churches should work together in sponsoring less privileged students.
He also thanked the proprietor for coming up with this novel idea which was much needed in Mon district.
The KNSK president also said the academy will go a long way in uplift of the society, especially the students.
The programme was chaired by Nyampho.
