Teachers’ Day celebrated across state honouring their service
DIMAPUR — Longleng district, like the rest of the country, observed Teachers’ Day on Tuesday by paying heartfelt tribute to educators.
The event was organised by the District Education Office (DEO) and held at the DEO conference hall in Longleng in the presence of Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak P, EAC Longleng HQ.
On the occasion, District Awards were presented to four teachers: Nirmal Sarkar, Mathematics teacher at Bautung Govt. Higher Sec. School; Ngongang Phom, assistant teacher at Phom Lempong Higher Sec. School; C PangjeiKeikung from GT Govt. High Sec. School, Yachem; and W Salang Phom, Hindi teacher at Govt. High School, Yaongyimchen.
On the occasion, the EAC congratulated the four awardees and urged all Longleng teachers to demonstrate the same commitment, dedication, and devotion as the awardees in uplifting Longleng district’s future generations.
He said that teachers and the School department should be assets to the state rather than liabilities to the state exchequer, and he urged all teachers to follow the Nagaland Government Service Conduct Rules and set a good example for their children and students.
All teachers in charge, head teachers, principals, and headmasters from both government and private schools in Longleng HQ attended the event.
Chümoukedima: The Chümoukedima district’s second common Teachers’ Day celebration was held at the Chümoukedima Town Council Hall. The event was graced by ADC Medziphema, P James Swu, as guest of honour.
Swu paid tribute and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the entire teaching community in his address, speaking about how teachers open up countless opportunities for students, guide them towards fulfilling lives, inspire them to bring out their best, and ultimately serve the country.
Swu stated that there is always a good teacher behind every successful person, and many stories revolve around the good teachers who guided, helped, and moulded individuals into who they are today.
Awards were also presented by the guest of honour during the event to two teachers: Enzenbeni Lotha of GHS Diphupar-B and L Hangsing Kuki of GHS Medziphema.
Mon town: The Teachers’ Day celebration brought together teachers from all government and private schools in Mon town at the town hall, with DC Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, gracing the event as the special guest.
In his speech, Verma emphasised the inseparable connection between teaching and teachers and encouraged students to become better learners by fostering a willingness to learn, remaining ever-ready to acquire knowledge, and displaying dedication towards their goals.
He stated that the contribution of a teacher is immeasurable, irreplaceable, and priceless.
On the occasion, Verma also handed over District Awards to four teachers: N Nokhu Konyak, primary teacher from GMS Loakho; T Chsmwang Konyak, primary teacher from GMS Chenmoho; Shoiyan Konyak, primary teacher from GPS ‘A’ Naginimora; and Nafisa Ali, teacher at St. Joseph’s School, Mon.
Konyak, who represented the awardees, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the department for selecting them for the District Award and encouraged his fellow teachers to be even more sincere and dedicated to the profession.
Earlier, Moala Aier, DEO (charge) of Mon, in her speech, emphasised the significance of Teachers’ Day, which commemorates Dr. Radha Krishnan’s birth anniversary.
She lauded teachers as mentors and guiding lights who lead young minds through the labyrinth of knowledge.
Shamator: The Shamator district common Teacher’s Day was held at EBRC Hall, with comperes Toshila and Kumrimong of Class 10 of Christian High School, Shamator, and Limaonen Addl. SP Shamator as the special guest.
While presenting the District Awards to Thsantsumong PGT, GHSS, Shamator, and S HongenThangti Chang graduate teacher, GMS ‘A,’ the special guest stated that teachers are the beacon of hope and that they work under difficult conditions, whether it rains or shines, so people must support and encourage teachers who work for the betterment of the future generation.
