DIMAPUR — Along with the rest of the country, the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign was launched in Pfutsero by the Pfutsero Town Council (PTC), in collaboration with the NSS unit of Pfutsero Government College.
ADC Pfutsero Mhalo Humtsoe, who officially inaugurated the campaign, in her address said that this year’s theme ‘Swabhav Swachhata – Sanskaar Swachhata’ roughly translates to ‘Cleanliness of nature – cleanliness of culture.’
The ADC urged everyone to adopt cleanliness as a way of life, while highlighting that cleanliness starts with each individual.
Humtsoe also administered the ‘Swachhta Pledge,’ a solemn commitment to uphold cleanliness and hygiene in daily lives, fostering a cleaner and healthier community.
The programme was chaired by Nuvezo Kotso, PTC member, while Zhovi Dukru, NSS programme officer at Pfutsero Government College, shared greetings. Mikha Kenye, chairperson of the PTC, also addressed the gathering.

Following the launching programme, a cleanliness drive was conducted by the NSS unit of Pfutsero Government College.
The Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign is part of the Government of India’s celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission. The administration has planned various activities during the campaign which will culminate on Oct. 2.
