KOHIMA — Minister of Power and Parliamentary Affairs, KG Kenye, on Friday told students to practice parliamentary democracy in their life saying that it is special in itself which has produced many responsible citizens who practice it.
He stated this during the state-level parliamentary quiz competition held at ATI Imagine Hall in Kohima. He advised the younger generations to be more responsible and put them into practice from a young age.
Pointing out the rapid changes taking place in society with the advancement in technology, he exhorted the students to make the best use of such technology to help them grow. He, however, cautioned them not to consume anything that could be accessed on the internet but to be rational. He also advised the students to remain focused on their studies and maintain balance to achieve success in life.
The state coordinator, Dr. Evonthung Ezung, said the programmes such as youth parliament and parliamentary quiz are equally important to make the students aware of the parliamentary practices.
