Mothers are backbone of child’s future– Sukhalu
DIMAPUR — Advisor of Food and Civil Supplies and Legal Metrology, KT Sukhalu, urged the mothers to have constant touch with their children saying that ‘Mothers are the backbone of a child’s future.’
Sukhalu stated this while addressing the 7th annual session of Zunheboto Area Totimi Loka (ZATL) in Yemishe village on November 23. He advised the mothers to be wise and always check or have conversation with their children about their studies or else the child could go astray, stated a DIPR report.
He narrated how as a child his mother was behind the driving force to make him an officer for which he always give credit to his mother for his success.
The advisor also encouraged the woman folks to always be strong and never have fear on gender issue as various countries and states are governed or headed by female leaders in this modern era.
Meanwhile, he requested the congregation especially the youth to preserve the rich culture and traditions stating that Nagas would be known only through their culture and traditions.
The advisor further requested the congregation to identify anyone from the villages who are good in studies and want to pursue for competitive exams like UPSC, NPSC, NSSB etc but are not in position due to financial problems. He has assured possible assistance to make them achieve their goals.
Competitions in cultural presentation, Bible recitation and song marked the programme.
