SST condemns ‘malicious’ post about Dr. SC Jamir on social media
DIMAPUR — The Office of the Soyim Shisaluyimer Telongjem (SST) on Wednesday expressed its “strong disapproval” of a post about Dr. SC Jamir shared on ‘The Patriotic Nagas’ Facebook page.
In a press statement, SST stated that the union was founded in 1945 and that Dr. Jamir was its first general secretary. It also noted that the half-formed thoughts and allegations were uncalled for and condemned.
Stating that while social media are public platforms where views and opinions can be expressed, malicious attempts to tarnish the character of a respected leader are unjustifiable and unwarranted.

The SST sought the identity of the person who created the post from the group’s admin, adding that the office has resolved not to leave any stone unturned until justice is served for the defamation and distortion of Dr. Jamir’s history and his contributions to the Nagas and the Indian state of Nagaland.
It said that should ‘The Patriotic Nagas’ fail to provide the identity, the admin and the entire group will be held responsible for any untoward events or other exigencies.
“We shall not rest until due justice is delivered to the life and legacy of Dr. SC Jamir,” it concluded.
