DIMAPUR — The Business Administration department of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama, on Friday organised its 15th Convergence Fest at the college indoor stadium on the theme “Unite, Innovate, Inspire” with the participation of students from six colleges, two universities and 12 departments of the host college.

The programme began an invocation prayer said by Sr. Dr. Theresiamma, vice principal of academic affairs, while welcome address was delivered by Imtipong Longkumer, lecturer in-charge of BBA department, wherein he highlighted that the fest was a platform for young minds to showcase their talents, skills and knowledge in the world of business.

The guest speaker and DGP of Nagaland, Rupin Sharma, encouraged the students to follow their passion and not fall or follow the footsteps of where the society leads them. Citing example from his own life, Sharma stated that he would not have made any impact in Nagaland because Nagaland is very complex, though a small state, if he had not followed his passion and what he loved to do.

He also emphasised on the need to explore in order to enable oneself to more opportunities in the world and not stick to own state for employment.

The introduction of the convergence fest was led by Lyaveio Alex Pao, convenor of 15th Convergence Fest. He shared that since the inception of Convergence Fest in 2010, it has grown from an intra-departmental gathering to a celebrated inter-college festival bringing together students from various disciplines and backgrounds.

Various competitions of the fest included the mad ads, business plan, photography, art, business quiz, mock interview, panel discussion and Mr and Miss Convergence.

Renowned artistes including Moko Koza, LC Sekhose, Khriebu Meyase and Azi Rudy made a special appearance and Dance Club of SJC enthralled the gatherings.
