Seer questions Nagaland govt.’s reason for ban of Gau Dhwaj Sthapana Bharat Yatra
DIMAPUR — After being prevented from entering Nagaland to continue his nationwide ‘Gau Dhwaj Sthapana Bharat Yatra,’ Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has demanded an explanation from the state government.
In a press release issued on Friday, the seer questioned the basis for the ban, stating that he “neither opposed the culture of Nagaland, nor opposed the Nagaland government, nor opposed the citizens here, nor talked about any kind of separation.”
He went on to say that preventing him from entering the state and meeting with people is a violation of his constitutional rights as an Indian citizen.
The press release also stated that the seer recorded a “10-minute video message to the Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio” where he reiterated the cow should be “declared the mother of the nation.”
It also claimed that “hundreds of devotees of Bhagwad from Nagaland supported Shankaracharya Ji’s movement through personal messages and over phone, but due to fear for their lives, they could not come forward.”
