Sao Chang College hosts FDP on ‘Teaching and learning’
DIMAPUR — The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Sao Chang College, Tuensang organised a five-day faculty development programme (FDP) on the theme ‘Teaching and learning,’ through online mode from Nov. 11 to the 15th.
The programme, which commenced with a welcome note by Dr. Lanurenla, principal of Sao Chang College, featured eminent resource persons from across different educational institutes, a press release from the college stated.
Alitoli V Sumi, asst. professor of History at Sao Chang College, presented an introduction to the FDP; Sekulu Neinu, asst. professor, Mokokchung College of Teacher Education, spoke on ‘Teacher as a leader and a manager,’ and Limanenla Lkr, asst. professor, Modern Institute of Teacher Education, discoursed on ‘Classroom management.’
Dr. Abhijit Borah, associate professor, Department of Physics, delivered a lecture on the topic ‘Emerging technologies in teaching and learning’; Fr. Dr. Joseph Cherian, principal, Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School, Wokha, spoke on ‘Teaching as a profession and professional ethics for teachers’; Dr. Anu GS, associate professor, Dept. of Education, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, delivered a lecture on ‘Assessment and evaluation in teaching and learning’;
Kavani Hekha, asst. professor, Modern Institute of Teacher Education, spoke on ‘Classroom management,’ and Thechano Kithan, asst. professor of Education, New Model College, Mangkolemba, spoke on ‘Open educational resources OER.’
Dr. Imtiwati, principal of New Memorial Jubilee, Mokokchung, discussed on ‘Teacher assessment’; Keneivi U Rhatsu, asst. professor, Unity College of Teacher Education, discussed on ‘Teaching skills and methodologies’, and Prof. Tiatoshi Jamir, professor, Department of History and Archaeology, Nagaland University, discoursed on ‘Importance of research for teachers.’
A report of the FDP was presented by Lemkhaba, asst. professor, Dept of Education at Sao Chang College. The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks by A Chubasangla Chang, asst. professor and coordinator, IQAC, Sao Chang College.
