SAMETI conducts training on winter vegetable crops
DIMAPUR — The State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Medziphema, organised a two-day training programme on ‘Production technology of winter vegetable crops and its management’ on September 26 and 27.
According to an update, the resource persons of the training were Dr. Ashwini Ananda, scientist, AICRP-VC, Department of Horticulture, SAS: NU, Medziphema campus; Dr. Mathew S Baite, scientist (Plant Pathology) ICAR Research Complex for NEH region; and Dr. Sable Mangesh Gajanan, assistant plant protection officer (E), CIPMC, Dimapur.
The resource persons emphasised on production technology of winter vegetable crops, major disease of vegetables and their management, changing scenario of Indian agriculture, IPM in different crops and hands-on NPS system.
Practical session on propagations of black pepper and demonstration of soil mixture and raised bed were conducted at ICAR farm by Dr. Azeze Seyie, scientist, ICAR Research Complex for NEH region.
The valedictory programme was chaired by Yezaho Swu, DPD SAMETI.
A total of 25 ATMA functionaries, who attended the training, were given certificates.
