Dimapur, July 12 (EMN): Admitting that all the endeavours to clean up the corrupt and dysfunctional system of governance remained futile, The Naga Rising (TNR) stated that it has given birth to Rising People’s Party (RPP) “to be the change we want to see and to give our people an alternative platform.”

A press release issued by TNR president, Along Longkumer; vice president, Dorothy Chang; secretary, Khriezodilhou Yhome; along with other members stated that RPP has been able to raise high hopes among the public, especially the younger generation since its inception about a year ago.

It stated that the formation of a new party has reconfirmed their conviction and encouraged them to rededicate to the mission.

“As a new party, there is much to learn, much to do, much to cover and there will be hardships along the way. There is no better way to deal with challenges than remaining strong to the cause for which the party exists and to hold on to its ideals,” the statement read.

Stating that the time has come for an alternative politics in Nagaland, TNR appealed to the people to reflect on the political choice they make today.

“Do we want our children to inherit a system that guarantees a better future or do we want our children to leave our land because of the corrupt system? The choice is ours,” it added.
