Rhythm of Love: In conversation with Atto Achumi
Atto Achumi one of the finalists of Naga Orpheus Hunt 2015 is a young and talented artist. He recalls his first stage performance when he sang alongside his father and sister. Now the budding musician from Pughoboto has released 3 originals.
His debut ‘Beautiful’ is said to be about perfection and beauty of a woman in an imaginary world. He believes in using simple words and phrases while composing, which are directly or indirectly related to his life-experience.

Eastern Mirror: To start off…..an intro of yourself to those who haven’t heard about you yet
Atto Achumi: Well, my name is Atto Achumi from Pughoboto and currently based in Kohima. I’m a fun loving person who loves music..
Eastern Mirror: Your journey with music so far……
Atto Achumi: So far, I have released 3 songs under my belt and I am quite happy with how it went. But I do need to keep improving.
So, I am trying and working hard to keep up the pace and hopefully will get my music where I want it to be.
Eastern Mirror: A recall of your first stage performance…..
Atto Achumi: My first stage performance was when I was in the 5th standard. It was a trio performance, along with my dad and sister. I don’t know how we sang, but we got another request to sing the same song. It was on Christmas eve.
Eastern Mirror: What is your main focus when it comes to composing? And how many have you composed till date?
Atto Achumi: Well, I like to keep things simple. I use simple words and phrases while composing. And yes, all my songs are directly or indirectly related to my real life experiences or situations. I think I have composed around 20 or more songs, so far.
Eastern Mirror: What is your debut “Beautiful” all about?
Atto Achumi: It’s about perfection and beauty of a woman in an imaginary world.
Eastern Mirror: How was your experience on being one of the finalists of Naga Orpheus Hunt (Naga Idol) 2015 like?
Atto Achumi: Looking back now, I’m very grateful for the experience. It has no doubt helped me to be better, wiser and in a way, change the way I look at music.
I am very happy that I was a part of it.
Eastern Mirror: What kind of songs do you focus on?
Atto Achumi: I lean mostly towards pop genre, but I do listen to all types of music.
Eastern Mirror: According to you, how has the music scenario become compared to the past days?
Atto Achumi: Hands down, without a doubt, we have come a long way from where it was back then. Now, we are exposed to lots of opportunities and technology has very much played its part. I think the present generation are blessed to have much easier access to music and stuffs.
Eastern Mirror: Any message to your fans?
Atto Achumi: Yes, I do have many things to say, but I will keep it simple:
Thank you so much for your constant support and believing in my music. I’m very grateful for everything. I hope to continue making good music and atleast bring some changes in the lives of the people who believe in me.
