DIMAPUR —The monthly meeting of the Sub-Divisional Planning and Development Board (SDPDB) was held on October 26 at the Cultural Hall in Pungro town.
The meeting, which was chaired by extra assistant commissioner of Pungro, Yitachu Thur, commenced with a comprehensive review of previous agendas, an official bulletin stated.
Notable attendees included S Kiusumew Yimchunger, advisor for Fire and Emergency Services, Home Guards and Civil Defence, officials and GBs. The meeting deliberated on various proposals and development plans and approved several agendas and proposals including, the proposal presented by the GBs of Khongsa areas for the construction of an Area GBs Court at Khongsa headquarters; waiting shed at the assistant commandant VG Office premises in Pungro town, construction of a multipurpose hall for the Yimkhiung Tribal Council in Pungro town.
The house also approved the proposal presented by Kiusumew for the acquisition of a site to construct a community health centre (CHC) in Pungro, the establishment of a sub-divisional horticulture office at PungroHq., as highlighted by the Department of Agriculture.
Further, the house recommended a re-survey of the proposed alignment from Thanamir to Longkhimvong, with the aim of creating a two-lane road with a hard shoulder from Mon, connecting Longwa-Pangsha-Choklangan-Tutang-Khongkha to Avakhung in the state, and alignment plan from Pungro-Salomi-Moya, under Priority 1 Phase 1.
These approvals represent significant steps in the development and enhancement of Pungro and the surrounding areas, it stated.
