KOHIMA — The Phek Town Council (PTC) under its chairman, Shevohu Nienu, on Tuesday held a coordination meeting with representatives of all the civil society organisations of Phek town and discussed various issues.
During the meeting, PTC has sought assistance of all the CSOs and requested to play their respective role, while the CSOs also requested the PTC to give more importance to water and electricity problems in the town, an update from the town council stated.
The house also strongly viewed on the need to maintain proper circular road and drainage system within the wards and the town.
Other issues discussed during the meeting included to focus on quality education in Phek town, to visit all governmental offices and educational institution, to encourage the youth to preserve heritage and biodiversity, to organise training and coaching centre in the town, to uplift economy of women-vendors.
The house also requested the Phek Town Public Forum (PTPF) to organise Sukrenye festival and pass the traditional heritage to the upcoming young generation.
