DIMAPUR — The office of additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Jalukie has recommended for the creation of Jalukie district—to be carved out of the existing Peren district—as proposed by the Jalukie District Demand Committee (JDDC).
In the recommendation issued on October 3, seen by Eastern Mirror, the ADC TL Kiusumong Tikhir stated that the JDDC proposal aligns with the government’s vision for decentralised governance, improved public service, and inclusive all round development.
“The creation of Jalukie district will significantly improve governance, public services and better quality of life and opportunities for its citizens. I consider this proposal as feasible due to its vast geographical area and dispersed population,” it read.
