Pre-Subroto cum Junior Football Tournament: Chümoukedima vs Peren in final

KOHIMA — Chümoukedima and Peren were through to the final of the State-level Pre-Subroto cum Junior Football Tournament for Boys Under-15 (U-15) after winning their respective semi-final matches played at Indira Gandhi Stadium (IGS) Kohima on Monday.

The week-long sporting event is organised by the Department of Youth Resources and Sports (DYRS) in collaboration with the Nagaland Football Association (NFA).

In the semi-final, Peren thrashed Wokha 8-0 to earn a berth in the final. Coincidentally, Chümoukedima defeated Kiphire with an equal margin (8-0) in the other semi-final match, thus  setting a clash with Peren in the final.

Semi-finalists Wokha and Kiphire will vie for the third position, while the Chümoukedima and Peren will play their title match at 2:30 pm on Tuesday.

Girls Under-17 (U-17)

Meanwhile. in the Girls Under-17 (U-17) matches played on Monday, Phek defeated Wokha 2-0 in the first match of the day, while Dimapur beat Noklak 4-0 in the match.

In the third match of the day, Chümoukedima defeated Peren 4-0, and Mokokchung beat Zunheboto 4-2 in a tie-breaker in the last and fourth match of the day.

Kohima and Chümoukedima will take on each other in the first semi-final, while Noklak and Zunheboto will play in the second semi-final, before the winners go on to play the title match.
