Picto Shohe elected NCP Legislature Party leader in Nagaland
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has elected Picto Shohe as NCP Legislature Party (NCPLP) leader to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), following the party’s meeting on March 4 at Hotel Japfü in Kohima.
The meeting also elected Puthai Longon as deputy leader of NCP Legislature Party, Namri Nchang as the party’s chief whip, Y Mhombemo Humtsoe as whip and S Toiho Yeptho as spokesperson.
It may be mentioned that the NCP had contested 12 seats in the recently concluded state assembly election and seven of them emerged victorious.
The winning NCP candidates include Namri Nchang from 6 Tening AC, Picto Shohe from 32 Atoizu, S Toiho Yeptho from 33 Suruhoto, Y Mhombemo Humtsoe from 38 Wokha, Y Mankhao Konyak from 46 Mon Town, A Pongshi Phom from 50 Longleng and Puthai Longon from 56 Noklak.
NCP national general secretary and Northeast in-charge Narendra B Verma, had in a press conference on March 4, informed that the decision whether to join the ruling government or opt to be in the opposition, will be taken only after meeting the national party chief, Sharad Pawar
