Phek Govt. College undergoes NAAC accreditation assessment
KOHIMA — The two-day second cycle of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditation for Phek Government College, Phek, was held on May 30 and May 31.
According to a press release, the institution was assessed by three NAAC peer team members, including Dr. Rajesh Jaipurkar, chairperson; Dr. Sandeep Kulshreshtha, member coordinator; and Dr. K Dhirendro Ramsiej, member.
The first day of assessment included presentations from the principal and the IQAC, as well as interactions with the departments and associations such as parent-teacher, alumni, administration, non-teaching staff, student council executives, and faculty members.
During the assessment, the peer team members conducted on-site verification of facilities such as the skill development club, artefacts gallery, library, laboratories, mushroom cultivation unit, floriculture unit, mushroom spawn production laboratory, and hostels.
On the second day of assessment, the peer team members conducted interactions with conveners of various committees and cells. Finally, an exit meeting with the institution’s stakeholders was held.
During the two-day assessment, officials from the Higher Education department were also present for interactions. These included Dr. K Nishena Nyekha, Additional Director of Higher Education, and Atula Aier, Nodal Officer for Quality Assurance.
The Deputy Commissioner of Phek, John Tsulise Sangtam, along with Col. Prasant Singh Chundawa of the 38th Assam Rifles, also visited the institution and interacted with the NAAC peer team members.
