Phek Government College, Fazl Ali College celebrate freshers’ day

DIMAPUR — Phek Government College held its 42nd annual freshers’ meet on August 9 at Deo Nukhu Hall, with Pfhülo Sara, president of the Chakhesang Students’ Union, as the guest speaker.

The event featured various performances by students, including songs, dances, and musical pieces, according to a press release.

It mentioned that Kozo Venuh and Humuchilu Venuh were crowned Mr. and Miss Freshers, respectively. Keneisa Tunyi and Vemukrolu were awarded Mr. Perfect and Miss Perfect, respectively, and Ravo Rhakho and Zilu Veswuh were named Mr. and Miss Popular, respectively. The Best Rampwalk title went to Ravo Rhakho and Etolu Rhakho.

The judges for the event were Dr. H. Atoholi Sema, assistant professor in the department of Chemistry; Nisekhoto Nisa, assistant professor in the department of Zoology; and Shothilü Dozo, assistant professor in the department of Political Science.

Fazl Ali College: On the same day, Fazl Ali College also held its annual freshers’ day in the college’s auditorium hall in Mokokchung.

The winners of the event were Yemkhong Samuel as Mr. Freshers and Mangyangkokla as Miss Freshers. The event also featured various presentations by the college students.

The judges for Mr. and Ms. Fresher 2024 were Yangerjungla Pongen, FAC alumna and Miss Fresher 2015; Dr. Bendangrenla S Longkumer, assistant professor, department of English; and Thejatseizo Angami, assistant professor, department of History.
