DIMAPUR — Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland Y Patton has lauded “the swift and effective action taken by the Peren Police in rescuing two kidnapped employees of NICADPL”.
In a press statement, Patton said that their rapid response and well-executed operation led to the safe recovery of the victims, who were working on the Peren-Maram road project.
It mentioned that the team, formed by SP Peren, successfully rescued the victims after coordinating efforts to locate them and engage with the kidnappers.
“I applaud the team's bravery in the face of extreme dangers. Their professional conduct ensured the safety of the hostages,” said Patton, adding that the operation also led to significant recoveries, including weapons, ammunition, mobile phones, cash, and a wireless set.
One of the perpetrators has also been arrested, he informed.
“This successful rescue operation shows the dedication and skill of our police force. Their efforts has ensured the safety of our citizens and sent a strong message against such criminal activities,” read the statement, urging all to continue to support the police force in their efforts to maintain peace and security in Nagaland.
The Dy. CM also took to micro-blogging platform X to laud the police.
He wrote: “Kudos to Peren Police for their courageous rescue of two kidnapped NICADPL employees. Their quick thinking and teamwork saved lives in a perilous situation. We're relieved the victims are safe and one perpetrator is in custody.
“This operation reminds us of the daily risks our police face to keep us safe. Special thanks to DGP Nagaland Shri @rupin1992 and SP Peren Shri Manish Bhartiya for their leadership.
“Let's recognize our police force's commitment to peace and security. Their often unsung service is the backbone of our community's well-being.”
