DIMAPUR — Several organisations have condemned the suspected murder of Noghuvi Sumi, a B. Th final year student, whose body was recovered on the roadside at Northern Angami Colony, Walford, in Dimapur on November 3.
TSUD: The Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) has expressed sorrow and anguish over the recent senseless act over an innocent theology student namely Noghuvi K Sumi.
It stated that such violent act not only devastated the victim’s family and loved ones but also undermined the sense of safety and trust within our society.
The union has strongly condemned the heinous crime in the strongest terms and requested the competent authority to conduct a thorough investigation into the case and ensured that every detail is carefully examined to uncover the truth and deliver justice swiftly and in transparent manner.
Meanwhile, the union also urged upon all right-thinking citizens to stand firm against violence and work together to create a safer environment. It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members.
PFNTC: The Proprietor Forum of Nagaland Theological Colleges (PFNTC) has condoled the demise of Noghuvi from Shevishe village and resident of Aghunato town.
It has strongly condemned the cold-blooded murder of a student and urged the law enforcement agencies to investigate and bring justice at the earliest. The Forum further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for comfort and strength during their hours of difficult time.
NSUI: The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Nagaland state, while condemning the murder of Noghuvi Sumi stated that such dastardly acts do not find any place in a civilised society and need to be outrightly rejected.
It urged the authorities for a fair and thorough investigation into the matter and demanded that the culprit be brought to justice. It also called upon all right -thinking citizens to stand in solidarity with the victim’s family until justice is served.
It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members.
DAYO: The Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (DAYO), while unequivocally condemning the murder of Noghuvi K Sumi, stated that a young theology student could have been a blessing not only to one’s tribe but to the Nagas and other non believers.
“Naga society had enough of such brutal act of cold blooded murder, which is not only against Christian values but also an affront to the values of justice, humanity and the sanctity of life that we all hold dear in our society,” DAYO said.
It further appealed to the responsible authority to spare no means in investigating and bringing the murderers to justice.
