NTC celebrates 75th anniversary of SBAK education ministry
DIMAPUR — The Nito Theological College (NTC) celebrated the 75th anniversary of SBAK education ministry on September 22.
An update from NTC stated that the education ministry of SBAK-Nito Mount traces its origin to Aizuto vernacular bible training school in 1949. The institute was established by Rev. BI Anderson, American Baptist Missionary, who came under the flagship of ABFMS. It added that the nomenclature of the institute changed from AVBTS, BTI, NTI and now Nito Theological College.
It stated that Rev. Dr. Akheto Sema, CBCNEI general secretary, unveiled the monolith and released the college’s annual journal. It added that Rev. Kughato K Chophi, executive secretary of SBAK-Nito Mount, delivered the message on the 75th anniversary theme “Retelling His story,” while Rev. Zuhokhu Kiba, former headmaster, pronounced the anniversary prayer and blessed the celebration.
Tony K, academic dean, chaired the programme, while Kakugha S Rotokha, chairman of planning board, delivered the welcome address.
Dr. L Hutton Sumi, former principal, released the anniversary souvenir and Dr. A Niholi Sumi delivered the vote thanks.
It further stated that more than 700 delegates attended the anniversary celebration programme.
