Dimapur: Commemorating ‘World Health Day,’ the Naga Students’ Union Bengaluru (NSUB) organised a webinar on April 7 on the theme “Health for all,” wherein around thirty people attended the webinar.

The webinar began with a welcome note delivered by its president, Sentsuthung Odyuo, who also provided an overview and rationale for conducting the webinar, while the programme was moderated by Veithriene Pao, a research scholar from Christ University, who welcomed the participants and introduced the speakers.

An update from the union stated that the first speaker, Amitabh Maisnam, a certified personal trainer from Mumbai, has emphasised the need for a healthy lifestyle by reminding the audience to regularly exercise and keep track of their intake of food. It added that the discussion was based on his personal experience working with clients to enable practical application to the listeners.

The second speaker, Lt. Col. Agiwangliu Newmai, has explained the importance of mental health by conceptualising the idea of mental health. She also spoke on mental hygiene, mindfulness, etc. She put forward a poignant message to the listeners to constantly check on their mental health for a healthy and sustainable life.

The last speaker, L Chumchano Ovung, D.Th from United Theological College, spoke on health and spirituality. She began her discussion with the understanding of health and spirituality from the perspective of Christianity and later drew a connection between health and spirituality by reminding the audience that their body was created in the image of God and that they should not abuse their body but rather live in righteousness and holiness.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by its general secretary, Martha Awungshi.
