NSF Trophy: Seithekema, Re-United, F4C triumph
KOHIMA — The second day of this year’s NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy, the 25th edition of the competition, saw Seithekema FC, Re-United FC, and F4C Academy secure victories at Indira Gandhi Stadium (IGS), Kohima.
In the first match, Seithekema FC dominated Nagaland University with a commanding 5-0 victory. From the first whistle, Seithekema displayed their intent and Baoringdao Bodo opened the account in the 19th minute. He added his second goal in the 60th minute.
Kahornghan added two goals: in the 31st minute and in the 60th minute; Ketholelie also helped the team with a goal in 43rd minute. Baoringdao Bodo was the man of the match.
In a more closely contested match, Re-United FC narrowly edged out Kohima Bible College 3-2. Besuve Rhakho scored a sensational hat-trick to lead his team to victory. He struck in the 7th minute, 15th minute and 21st minute, to earn the man of the match honour.
For Kohima Bible College, Joyjit scored in the 22nd while Thashalo added another in the 33rd for Kohima Bible College.
The final match of the day was a one-sided affair as F4C Academy crushed SNGC Football School 11-1.
Gingunhao Haokip was unstoppable, netting four goals in a brilliant individual performance securing goals in the 1st minute, 9th, 25th and 31st.
The Academy team’s relentless attack left no room for an SNGC comeback as Manminlal added two goals in the 49th minute and 59th minute. Lungin Lhouvum added three added goals in the 54th minute, 62nd and 70+2 mins while Lungkhongam added another goal in the 56th minute. Houlungou Mate also added a goal in the 68th minute.
For SNGC Football School, the lone goal was scored by Hengouhao Vaiphei in the 70th minute. Lungin Lhouvum of F4C Academy was man of the match.
