NSF office in Kohima vandalised, documents destroyed
Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) office in Kohima vandalised in the wee hours of Saturday
KOHIMA — In an unfortunate turn of event, unidentified persons vandalised the office of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) located at Naga Club Building, Kohima, in the wee hours of Saturday.
Speaking to journalists, Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) President Kegwayhun Tep informed that they got the news around 3 am and reached the spot around 5 am, but by that time the vandals had already left the scene.
Tep informed that all the important documents and records kept in the office including those stored in the PC were destroyed.
The documents and records of not only about the NSF but also the entire Naga people were suspected to be destroyed.
An excavator (JCB) was reportedly brought by the mob numbering around 30 who came with daos (machetes) and sticks to vandalise the NSF’s office.
It may be mentioned that the building also houses the All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU) office, Kohima Press Club (KPC) office and eight shops.
The NSF leader also informed that an FIR was filed at North Police Station around 5:30 am. Police investigations are on till the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, the NSF has convened an emergency presidential meeting in view of the unfortunate event.
