DIMAPUR — Public Grievances Cell of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC-PGC) has demanded the Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to release the stipends for students of Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) without further delay.
PGC alleged that the stipend has not been released to the trainees starting from the year 2020 till 2023 for all eight districts Industrial Training Institute namely Kohima, Dimapur, Wokha, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Mon, Phek and Kiphire. It mentioned that the stipend allocated for each trainee is INR 500 per month which amounts to INR 6000 annually.
The PGC has questioned the concerned authority as to why the stipend was not released to those students who have already completed their courses including those who are undergoing training.
The PGC, therefore, demanded the concerned authority to immediately release the stipend to those who have completed their course and also to those who are currently pursuing their course without further delay. It has warned of resorting to democratic means of protest if the concerned authority fails to comply with its demand.
