North East NSS Youth Festival underway at Tetso College
DIMAPUR — The North East National Service Scheme (NSS) Youth Festival 2024, a five-day programme fostering unity and cultural exchange among the eight north-eastern states of India, is underway at Tetso College.
Commenced on July 22, it will culminate on July 27 and is featuring the participation of 300 NSS volunteers, according to a press release. Kethosituo Sekhose, Director of the Directorate of Youth Affairs and Sports, was the special guest at the inaugural event.
Jangjilong, Regional Director of the NE NSS Region, delivering the introductory note, discussed the theme of the festival, “Youth for my Bharat,” emphasising the richness of India’s culture and heritage and the diversity that every youth should be proud of.
He spoke about the impact and objectives of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,” highlighting its goals and perspectives, and how youth can contribute to nation-building through innovative projects.
In his speech, the special guest encouraged the youth to develop and refine their skills in all areas of life to become self-sufficient and give back to society. He stressed the importance of leadership development in contributing to nation-building.
