Niuland DLCC holds meeting with political parties

DIMAPUR — The Niuland district level coordination committee (DLCC) for ULB election held a meeting with all the political parties and candidates of Niuland Town Council (NTC) on June 19 in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office.

The DC of Niuland, Sara S Jamir, who chaired the meeting, welcomed all the members and elaborated on the model code of conduct, dos and don’ts for contesting candidates, state an update from the DC office.

Yongchingkumla, election observer for Niuland Town Council, urged the members for peaceful conduct of ULB election and requested the contesting candidates to follow all the rules and regulations.

The ADC and Returning Officer of Niuland Town Council called upon all the candidates to go through the handbook and also emphasised on the Dos and Don’ts, while the DCP of Niuland emphasised on the security details and to abide by the rules.

A demonstration on procedure of voting on ballot papers was presented by Vitoka Yepthomi, district level master trainer for Niuland Town Council.

The meeting concluded with a thanks delivered by the chairperson.
