DIMAPUR — North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Ministry of Culture, Government of India, has invited applications from artists, performers and cultural groups from the Northeastern states for formal empanelment with NEZCC.
An update from the Directorate of Art and Culture informed that the mandate of NEZCC is to preserve, innovate and promote the projections and dissemination of arts of the region and to upgrade and enrich consciousness of the people about their cultural heritage. It added that special efforts are made to propagate folk arts, crafts and to preserve and strengthen the vanishing art forms.
To achieve those objectives, it stated that NEZCC provides opportunities to the folk and tribal cultural troupes, crafts persons, artisans, traditional chefs (ethnic cuisine artisans), mime, puppetry and traditional games performers to participate in cultural festivals and melas organised in the region and other parts of the country.
Interested folk and tribal cultural troupes, crafts persons, artisans and artistes are asked to submit application for empanelment with NEZCC.
The application form for empanelment could be downloaded from http://www.nezccindia.org.in, or may obtain from the Directorate of Art and Culture in Kohima on or before October 31.
